Performance Specialist

Ben’s passion is working in the sports medicine setting. He has experience working with individuals from the amateur to the professional level. He has worked with elite athletes of all ages and has a strong passion for optimizing each individual’s movement patterns in their sport and in their daily lives. Ben enjoys educating the athlete on the science and mechanics behind the attention to detail with movement patterns in order to provide understanding of performance benefit that can be obtained.

Ben’s goal is to provide each client with hands-on overall assessment that focuses on improving mobility, stability and neuromuscular education in order to perform optimal movement at a high level. He believes in understanding and performing excellent quality of movement before quantity of movement…. He is fully invested in supporting, serving, and helping his clients to better understand and care for their bodies, make progress towards specific goals, and prime the body for maximum potential in sports and day-to-day activities.

Ben participated in a variety of sports from childhood through high school. This includes: football, basketball, baseball, track/field, golf, and wrestling. Ben “continued to impersonate being an athlete” by participating in intramural sports in college as well.

Ben has over ten years of professional experience as an Athletic Trainer, and was most recently the Head Athletic Trainer at Pelham High School. In addition to his previous full time position, Ben has covered the 2022 World Games, Conference USA Championships in baseball, softball, and football, the Mercedes Marathon (4x), and D2 NCAA Wrestling Championship. Ben has a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Troy University and a Masters of Science in Sport Management from University of Southern Mississippi.

Since graduation, Ben has furthered his expertise and education by obtaining certificates in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Functional Movement Screening (FMS) from . He’s currently in the process of becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in order to better serve his clients now and in the future.

Ben was born and raised in Oxford, Alabama. In his free time, Ben highly values and enjoys spending time with his friends and family, going to concerts and sporting events, being active outdoors, serving at church and in community, and participating is a wide array of recreational activities/sports.
