Kimberly BEcker--Price, PT, ATC

founder & owner, Physical Therapist

Kimberly founded Ultimate Edge Sports Medicine from a heart’s desire to provide excellent personal care to each of her patients. After working under both private and corporate entities and experiencing the challenges of not being able to provide the level of care and service she felt each patient deserved, Kimberly decided to open Ultimate Edge Sports Medicine after much prayer and counsel.

Kimberly has been a licensed clinician in the physical therapy field for over twenty years. She has worked side by side with surgeons and physicians from the University of Michigan as well as Andrews Sports Medicine. She is adept in both acute and chronic orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries, as well as post-operative orthopedic rehabilitation. Her specialty is lower extremity rehab, specifically the foot and ankle. Her passion is prevention and performance within her rehab in order to carry someone beyond their previous potential.

Kimberly’s clinical interests include prevention, pre and post-operative rehab, running injuries, foot and ankle injuries,  knee and hip injuries,  shoulder and elbow injuries, functional assessment and rehab involving the spine, and performance enhancement. Her passion is working with active individuals and athletes of all ages and levels. She loves to provide education on injury prevention, the causes for dysfunctions that are present, and ways to gain the greatest benefit out of rehab and training through addressing the body from all facets: mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, and nutritional. Kimberly’s main desire is to assist patients in reaching their undiscovered potential.

Kimberly founded Ultimate Edge Sports Medicine intentionally and with the desire to be multi-faceted. Kimberly believes everyone can have the ultimate edge in their life if Christ is a part of it and they know the Lord personally. She feels strongly about praying for her patients and for wisdom in treating and caring for them. Kimberly believes that as a clinician you can have no greater wisdom than the wisdom from the Lord and this naturally provides the ultimate edge in care to her patients. Kimberly’s philosophy is centered around treating the individual as a whole; mind, body and soul. When working with a patient or client, she believes in formulating individualized and detailed programming that not only addresses the area of injury or concern, but works to train and rehab from a preventative and performance perspective. Investing in each patient mentally, emotionally and spiritually is a daily part of her interaction with each of her patients. The body responds physically based on how you feel mentally; therefore, investing in a positive, encouraging and supportive environment is of supreme importance to her.

Kimberly’s vision is to provide comprehensive care and communication within her practice. This involves a standard of excellent communication and follow-up with each patient and client as well as allied health members (physicians, coaches, athletic trainers, parents, etc.). The standard of her practice is to help bridge the gap for the patient/client in facilitating allied health appointments and communicating with their other allied health team members to ease the stress and makes things as seamless as possible for the patient. The goal is to be an integral part of each patient and client’s rehab and performance team. Kimberly has aligned herself with many local resources to be able to provide and refer the most appropriate care. This includes physicians, surgeons, sport-specific specialty trainers, massage therapists, dietitians, psychologists, and counselors. Kimberly’s long-term vision is to have a facility where comprehensive healthcare provides prevention training, performance training, nutrition counseling, recovery, and so much more can be housed under one roof so that individuals can have seamless care from prevention to rehabilitation to performance and achieve a level of education that helps individuals exceed their goals and promotes lifelong health and wellness.

What sets Ultimate Edge Sports Medicine apart is very simple: We care about the individual first, above ALL else. From the moment you walk through the door at Ultimate Edge, the environment is warm, inviting and like family. We desire to provide encouragement and support first and foremost, so you will experience a positive, motivating and inspiring atmosphere where you can’t help but feel better when you leave. Second, we are extremely detail driven. We treat each individual as a new and unique puzzle. Individualized programs are prepared and planned for daily after a thorough evaluation takes place. This is where we treat the person and not the problem. We put everything together from the physical assessment and look at the whole, including the mental/emotional state of the individual, timelines and goals. As the plan is carried out, each individual has eyeballs on them at all times. Form and technique is incredibly important to us. It does not help someone if they perform an exercise incorrectly—they will either not get better or they could harm themselves, so ensuring that the exercises and movements are performed properly is a standard we hold and take very seriously. Providing education surrounding the why of what you need to do and how to prevent things in the future is another very present part of what sets us apart. We love what we do and what we do is help people through a challenging time from a mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual perspective. Our job is not only to get you better, but to make you feel better through the entire process.

A note from Kimberly...

I was born in Toledo, Ohio to  the most amazing Godly parents and am one of nine children. I have a very strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and greatly enjoy the Alabama weather! I was just recently married to the most amazing man that the Lord most graciously brought my way. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my new husband, running, working out, anything outdoors, being involved in community events, watching football, and eating!

My goal is to provide a warm and friendly environment where you will always feel welcome. My desire is to provide you with, not only the most skilled and knowledgeable treatment but also an experience where you feel genuinely cared for and know that your mental, physical and emotional well-being matters to me and my team! My approach to your treatment will involve not only assisting the recovery of your current problem but also attempting to prevent further problems while encouraging lifelong health and wellness. I will accomplish this through evaluation, exercise, manual techniques, and education while helping you achieve your goals.”
